Steve Graham is Professor of International Child Health with the University of Melbourne and Principal Research Fellow with The Burnet Institute, Melbourne, Australia. He has over 25 years of experience in clinical and operational research in African and Asia-Pacific regions, with broad perspective of the public health challenges from 15 years of working as a pediatrician in countries such as Malawi and PNG. Steve works closely with WHO in areas of policy, implementation guidelines, product development and advocacy, especially in the field of child tuberculosis (TB). These roles include lead author of WHO Guidelines on Child TB (2006 and 2014) and International Roadmap for Child and Adolescent TB (2013 and 2018). He was Chair of WHO Child and Adolescent TB Working Group (2011-17) and member of WHO STAG-TB (2012-17) overseeing development of WHO's End TB Strategy in line with SDGs. In 2021, Steve co-chaired the Guidelines Development Group for the WHO Consolidated Guidelines on Child and Adolescent TB. He continues to works collaborate with pediatric leaders and national TB programs in TB-endemic countries to address the policy-practice gaps in detection, treatment and prevention, including of drug-resistant TB.
