Malena Cohen Cymberknoh
Malena Cohen-Cymberknoh, M.D. was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2000. She is married and a mother of four children, and lives in Israel since 2000.
Dr. Cohen-Cymberknoh did her residency in Pediatrics and was a chief resident at the Dept. of Pediatrics at Hadassah-Medical Center in Jerusalem, finished her final examination with outstanding honors. She did her fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Hadassah (2007-2010). Since then she has worked as a senior physician in the Pediatric Department and in the Center for Pediatric Chronic Diseases at Hadassah. Additionally, since 2017, she is a Senior Lecturer and a committee member at the Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem. She is a thesis supervisor for MD degree students at the Hebrew University Medical School. Since 2013, she is a committee member of the Israeli Society for Pediatric Pulmonology and since 2017 she is a committee member for clinical programs for medical students at the Hebrew University Medical School. Additionally, she was the leader of the scientific committee for the Immunology/Pulmonology assembly at the European Cystic Fibrosis Conference (2015) and a member of the committee (2015-2018).
Since 2008, Dr. Cohen-Cymberknoh is invited to give lectures and to serve as a moderator in national and international scientific conferences. Her special research interest fields include Cystic fibrosis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, asthma and other chronic lung disease.
Dr. Cohen-Cymberknoh is involved in CF research as principal investigator and co-investigator of many national and international multi-center clinical trials. She is also very involved in international collaborations and teaching CF teams all over the world (e.g., Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Panama). Her scientific publications, more than 50, include a number of papers published in some of the highest accredited journals e.g. American Journal of Respiratory Critical Care Medicine, Thorax, Chest, PlosOne, European Respiratory Journal, Respiratory Medicine, Journal of Cystic Fibrosis and Pediatric Pulmonology.
